IS AIRBRUSH FLAWLESS FOUNDATION GOOD FOR OILY SKIN?
I actually don’t love a gloss all over, I find it catches the light on the t-zone to make it look more textured than it actually is. I much prefer the foundation once the t-zone has been powdered. It is such a light formula, and you can stretch the smallest dot of product over your whole face. You can layer for more coverage, but it literally covers everything and still looks like skin. I usually like a glowy foundation but this is so good. So I thought I would cut straight to the chase with the shade chat.

I personally find it lasts most of the day and wears very naturally without patching. It lasts even better when powdered but I haven’t really been bothering with this as I haven’t been out that much. Yes, this formula will definitely please the beauty junkies that love a bit of glow. It makes skin look healthy and hydrated and not greasy-looking. As you will see from the swatches above, there is a very soft shimmer running through the foundation to give it a good amount of glow. This is not something to be scared of, as it doesn’t translate on to the skin at all and instead gives a lovely flattering finish.

I found Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin foundation to be really brilliant on redness. It covers it quickly in a very natural way, without masking. It honestly looks incredible on, it doesn’t have much coverage but you can see how radiant makes my skin look. Now, it boggles my mind that cosmetic creators keep adding token amounts of SPF to foundations – in this case SPF15. That’s not enough to provide sufficient sun protection (don’t be fooled, apply a decent sunscreen underneath) AND THEN it poses a photography risk. If I were to skip the powder, the sheen would draw attention to microscopic lumps and bumps (am I looking too closely? Maybe) but a dusting of powder and the finish is very flattering on texture.

It delivers a natural looking flawlessness with minimal effort and you hardly need any product to cover the whole face. I think it gets more velvet-matte (very natural), the more you use, and I also think it’s looks better on the skin the longer you wear it. The coverage I would describe as sheer, buildable to a medium. Out of the tube, #4 looks neutral enough to match my olive skin but it oxidises to a slightly warmer hue – nothing major but something to consider. The best way to apply this foundation is with a dense but fluffy brush.
If I had to choose one shade out of the ones I have, it would be 4 Warm. As there is no mention of SPF, it’s hard to compare it to a CC cream, but it does resemble the IT Cosmetics CC cream in texture. I’d say that the coverage of the CT is more natural looking, and less full.
In fact I actually hoped that was a foundation when it first launched, so this is all my dreams come true – dramatic, I know. I suspect that this formula is abundant with light reflective particles (not shimmer) as it deflects shadowy areas – very ‘youthful’. The Bourjois Healthy Mix #52 and Koh Gen Do Aqua #213 are my best matches, more olive and paler than the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder #4. From the shade of preview shades I have been sent, I decided that 4 Warm was my best match. I love to test new products but I hate wasting money so here you can find my honest reviews and thoughts on the most popular products. The formula is quite thin and runny, it feels like water, you have to shake it before applying it. I like that is travel-friendly and clumsy proof, I think that’s why it’s less expensive than usual.
My only critique is the coverage, ultimately it’s a sheer coverage base and I prefer medium buildable, to minimise the amount of product I have to load on ma face. This product does mix very well with the Cover FX Custom Cover Drops, occasionally I’ll add a drop to offer greater coverage and lift the shade a touch. The finish of this foundation is matte but it can work for dry skin types as long as your base is prepped really well. Hydration is key so an essence, serum, rich moisturiser and hydrating primer are essential steps before applying this foundation. With an impressive 44 shades to choose from, you’re destined to find one that’s the absolute perfect match for both your skin tone and undertone.
Paired with the dewy finish, I predict that the Light Wonder Foundation would register best on dry to mildly combo skins – oilier skin types will be blotting every hour, ain’t nobody got time for dat. I am combination – dehydrated with a bit of an oily t-zone – and it works well for me. You may need a good setting powder if you are more on the oily side. The skincare ingredients within the formula also claim to work on reducing pigmentation over time. Fans of Light Wonder will most likely enjoy the new Beautiful Skin foundation. It is more of a full bodied formula, slightly thicker in texture and fuller in coverage, but it gives a dewiness that LW also delivers.
